DIY: Wrap it up!

So it's the holiday season and you have the tedious task of wrapping all the gifts you have spent countless hours searching for and buying for your loved ones. Everyone has to do it, so why not have some fun with it and break out of the box this year with a little creativity!

For those of us who already have that creative side that loves to come out in instances just like this, gift wrapping is fun and a chance for us to showcase our originality. For those who it may seem a little more daunting, here are some images to hopefully inspire and get the creative juices flowing......

Use unique toppers for your gifts, anything natural that you already have around, branches, leaves, seashells, etc.

These velvet leaves from Tinsel Trading make a beautiful topper.

So creative, just use bright construction paper and a hole punch.

Mixing gold and silver is very elegant.

Using an ornament as a topper looks great and is another bonus gift!

Again, another household item, bow-tie pasta. I love the neutral colors.

This gift wrapping is very simple and elegant. The velvet ribbon is the perfect touch to create such a lovely gift.

Be aware of your color palate, this combination is beautiful.

And don't be afraid to step out of green and red.

Simple yet unique.

Adding a strip of colored paper and a bow is a no fail solution.

I love the wintery blue and green colors in fun patterns.

Have any left over newspapers? This is a fun way to wrap your recipients gift in their favorite cartoon strip.

Search for beautiful patterned paper. Ikea, Crate & Barrel, and Target are just a few that have some fun and modern paper.

I love the neutral brown with an intricate lace pattern and unique gift tags.

At first, I thought this was tacky and cute all at the same time. I think this is a fun way to wrap a gift card to their favorite restaurant or cafe. But in my opinion that is the only way this wrapping should be acceptable.

My grandmother would just love these gift tags. Not only are they adorable decoration on the gift but once the gift is open, put it on the tress as an ornament.

MY FAVORITE!! I just think this is simply wonderful! This would be so easy to make and even easier if you are handy with a sewing machine. Just buy some card stock and yarn and get after it.

Too precious for a young girl's gift.

Get creative with stamps.

Use some letters to personalize your gift.

This is the perfect way to personalize a wine bottle.
